tort cu vișine.

this past week, andrada came over to teach us how to make tort cu vișine, as the subject line would suggest.
translation:
cake with (sour) cherries!
mmmmmm.
it was delicious.
and i used to not like cherries because they reminded me of medicine.
but.
section 2 has converted me. the freshly picked ones from their trees? i love the sour cherries. and i love watching my kids faces as they eat them. ahaha. so. cake with cherries? mmmmm.

recipe, for a relatively sized cake pan:
5 eggs.
1 cup (mug) of sugar.
a dash of baking powder.
flour to consistency.
pitted vișine.

split the egg yolks.
beat the egg whites to make it look meringue-ish.
mix the yolks and sugar together.
add the baking powder and flower.
mix it all together.
pour into cake pan.
push cherries into batter.
when out of oven, sprinkle top with powdered sugar.
