beeeeep. coooooo. beeep beeep. cooo, cooo.

romanian drivers honk at any whim. it's like their voicebox when they need to be louder than their own voice. this means there's honking all the time. it's hilarious. like, they honk 7 times at once, like they're playing a song with their horn.

i'm going to need a visit to the chiropractor when i get home i think. we should probably make an appointment now, momma. hahaha. jokes. but really. we'll see. these couches and beds are a little interesting for all of us.

michael's roommate (a little old lady) made him eggs for breakfast yesterday. cute, huh? that's probably the extent of their relationship. oh, and she'll wash his sheets for him. bahaha. cute.

i'm still in love with the lace curtains and the balcony.

plugging in a laptop to charge it makes the lights flicker periodically while it's plugged in. kind of freaks me out. whatevs.

hopefully the light outside our apartment will be fixed today! it's pitch black at night. and enormously freaky.

roslyn made it! she's seriously gone through heck to get here. i would have cried multiple times in her situation. but we are ultra glad she's here with us now. :)

i love the sound of birds outside my window in the morning. don't worry. romania provides an ultra large dose of it. sometimes i feel like we live next door to an aviary. or maybe just a pigeon house. haha. without the house. they are everywhere!

my google is in romanian. everything is in romanian. surprise! haaaahaha.

i'm glad i can wake up at 9:30 am in romania, and laur is still awake and can chat with me. i should probably let her go to bed. oops. not gonna happen.

across the street in hala centrala there's a place called 'magic pizza.' uhhh hello. the pizza was delicious. like, brick oven or pizza factory quality for the equivalent of 88 cents per slice. ferie. i know, right? be jealous. like way jealous.

yesterday we had some fun with romanians in elevators. 2 rides in a row. haahaha. at least the older lady kind of chuckled. as she spewed out a bunch of things in romanian. probably helped that amanda couldn't stop laughing since it was right after the old guy joined us. he was less amused. like, the elevator gets all the way to where you're going, but instead of letting you open the doors, starts going down again. or back up. and then we meet a new friend. baaahaahaha. that's all i have to say about that.

today teo is showing us around and where the hospital and orphanage are! and putting minutes on the phone so we can actually use it instead of just get called on it. the phone kind of freaks me out. ha. mario thought we would know how to use it. yeah. it's different than an american phone. that's all i have to say. ha.

pigeons coo. like a dove, but less eloquent. ha. i would know. they're having a party outside my window. and everywhere in this city. they're hilarious. they're necks as they walk? haaahaha. gets me every time.

i'm putting pictures on my computer right now that i took when we wandered the city for a little bit yesterday. iași is seriously beautiful. more on that later.

i figure if i really like this place 85-90 percent of the time, maybe more, and it's only been less than 2 days? excellent.

romania is the place to be. obviously. musty smell, honks, strange looks, hilarious elevator experiences and all.
