gypsies are touchy.

oh you know. just a beautiful day in romania. cool, huh? i know. i love it.
the more time i spend in iași, the more i love it.
obviously i have my moments. but honestly. it's the most beautiful city.
and i came into this determined to just laugh the weird things off.
laughing more than ever before in my life? check.
which is obviously a big deal. knowing how much i laugh and all.
i know. you should probably be concerned.
whatevs.
romanian people just kind of make me chuckle.

today we slept in, i chatted with my momma and laursy (and a couple others) while roslyn & amanda [my roomies] were still asleep. i thoroughly enjoyed that they were online to gchat with me. really i did. naturally. we all went to lunch together at the moldova mall down the street now that all 8 of us are here. have i ever mentioned that i love my group? cause i do. let me just say that five kajillion more times. i think it was in my journal that i wrote this, but we all just kind of complement each other really well. like we definitely have our differences, but they're complementary differences that mesh really well together. and i really just love it. i think it's also helpful that we're all here together in a completely foreign country. the only americans we know. (besides the missionaries. obviously.) anyways. i really just love my group. and we've had a lot of nice bonding time the past few days. let me restate that. a loooooot of time. ha. let's just say we're really excited for our routine to start up.

sidenote. there's something weird about this place that i don't really get hungry. like maybe slightly. like i am right now, but not like i should. then again, earlier i was hungry. and at the mall i was trying to try something new. and ended up with hummus. haaa. yeah. let's just say i was not quite satisfied at the end of the meal. and the worker where i got food? thinks i'm a moron. let's be real. ha.

this afternoon teo (she works as a psychologist at section 2 [orphanage/placement center]. we love her.) took us around and showed us where the villa is (church is on the second floor of the villa) , as well as section 2. and we get to go on friday! i'm excited. ultra nervous. but excited. and then we went back to the villa. the first time we might have walked in on the sisters giving someone a discussion. might have. haaaaa. but we went back and met the elders as they came back just before a teaching appointment. and then chatted with the sisters for a bit. and there's a branch activity tomorrow night (institute/seminary type thing for the youth). we're excited. mostly to have something on the schedule now. you know the scene in the best two years when they are talking to kyle about an appointment, and they open their blue schedule and say, 'yeah. i think we can fit you in there.' and it's completely blank? ha. that's us right now. haaha. bad news. hilarious, really.
michael, melissa, amanda, me, breanne, kylee, rebecca, & roslyn.
obviously we're really cute in romania. i don't want to talk about it. ha.

after going to the villa, we went back and teo showed us where the theatre is, right next door to city hall. and then we went to the orange store to buy minutes for the cell phone. which lucky our apartment gets to keep track of. let's just say it is an old phone. and flippin weird. even teo couldn't figure it out. and she's used to romanian phones. ha. but we're kind of getting the hang of it.
after which, we went down to the open air market! aka the farmers market thing. aka my new favorite place in iași. so cute. really. i was obsessed.

yes those are all flowers. yes they were the most beautiful and fresh flowers i've ever seen.

teo then left, and we stopped off at g market for a few things. i bought hazelnut spread. and milka chocolate. and oranges. obviously it was a very productive for me. ha. don't worry. we go like every day. andddd roslyn & amanda bought pear juice. ha. brian would be so proud.

and then returned home. and laughed a lot while bonding in our hallway. which is the only place in our apartment with internet. ha. we loved it. have i ever mentioned i love our group? we're hilarious. ha. and then after a ring-a-ling from sora mullen checking on us, and then scala 1 inviting us over, we went over to scala 1 to chat and watch a movie. so we watched pride&prejudice. michael naturally loved it. ha. just kidding. he says it wasn't that bad. and let's be real. we love it. and here we are again.

i feel like our days are not all that thrilling at this point. but i like it. and really, i just love this place. and am positive i will even more as i get to know people. and scala 2 is the bomb dot come. good thing it's 2am. good thing we have absolutely nothing on the schedule tomorrow. durrrrr.

p.s. sorry there are so many pictures. i probably need to calm down. or not post so many. haaaa.
