i made a new friend today.

he was a cute old man in the piața. and he sold me flowers.

 i think he might have been ripping me off.

but it was worth it. and for what i got for 10 lei?

definitely worth it.

and wayyyy fresher and cheaper.

more for your money.

minor detail that we don't have a vase. oh well. cups work too. ha.

these little white flowers? i'm not really sure what they are. but they smell absolutely divine. kind of like fresh roses.

also, tulips are 2 for a lei! which is like 6 lei for a dozen. which is like 2 dollars. i know, right? so cool.

and then i made another friend buying some oranges and grapes from a nice lady. i'm a little nervous. but excited to try them. after i bleach them. plumpest grapes i've ever seen! and they're blueish. and look sooo good.

i know! they're so big and juicy. :)

last but not least, a loaf of fresh bread. no offense to romania. but i've concluded that the bagged bread has an odd taste to it. but this bread is probably the most delicious in the world. dead serious. so from now on i will be living on fresh bread. just like in provo. ha.

best part of today? i'm getting excellent at masking the fact that i don't speak romanian when i'm at the market or somewhere like that. obviously, none of us are anywhere near fluent. because let's be real. it's romanian. but i try. and unless i have to have a long conversation, i'm not a complete moron. this is a big step. don't worry. i'm sure later today or tomorrow i'll have some sort of experience that completely opposes this.

and i still don't understand them when they just go off saying stuff. they like to do that a lot. they just start talking. almost as if it's just into thin air, but they expect people to reply. or give acknowledgment. like a nod, or a chuckle. or who knows. and sometimes they actually are saying something significant. i don't know. but i like it. it makes me laugh. i'm really good at just nodding and acting like i know what's going on. but let's be real. totally don't. oopsay.

either way. flowers. fresh bread. chocolate. fruit.

life is good.
